Use your Brightspace courses in ChatGPT and Claude
Sync your courses once, then add Chat2L to ChatGPT or Claude. They can search your slides, readings, announcements and due dates whenever you ask about a course, and link back to the file.
What they can do with your courses
Search every course file
Lecture slides, PDFs, Word files and readings, across all your courses at once.
Read whole documents or exact pages
Ask about slide 14 or chapter 3 and it reads just that part, with a link back to the file.
Look at the slide itself
When a question depends on a graph or diagram, it can view up to four pages as images.
Know what's due
Assignments, quizzes and due dates, plus your professors' announcements.
Everything is read only. ChatGPT and Claude can't post, submit or change anything in Brightspace, and they only ever see your own courses.
Set it up
First, create a Chat2L account and install Chat2L Sync for Chrome so your courses import. Then add the connector with this URL:

- In Claude, open Settings, then Connectors.
- Choose Add custom connector.
- Name it Chat2L and paste the URL below.
- Choose Connect and sign in to Chat2L.
ChatGPT
- In ChatGPT on the web, open Settings, then Apps & Connectors, then Advanced, and turn on Developer mode.
- In Apps & Connectors, choose Create.
- Name it Chat2L, paste the URL below, and pick OAuth.
- Save, then sign in to Chat2L.
Questions
What is the Chat2L connector?
It's an MCP server at https://www.chat2l.com/mcp that gives ChatGPT, Claude and other MCP apps read-only access to the Brightspace courses you synced to Chat2L.
Can ChatGPT or Claude change anything in Brightspace?
No. Every tool in the connector only reads. Nothing can be posted, submitted or changed.
Who can see my course files?
Only you, through the apps you connect. Each connection is tied to your Chat2L account and can be removed any time in Chat2L under Settings, or in ChatGPT or Claude.
Do I need to sync my courses first?
Yes. Create a Chat2L account and install the Chat2L Sync extension for Chrome. Your courses import in a few minutes and stay up to date every 30 minutes.
