Terms of Service

By using Chat2L (“the Service”), you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

What Chat2L is

Chat2L is a personal study tool — not a content-sharing platform, note-selling service, or assignment-completion service. It is functionally equivalent to making your own flashcards, hiring a private tutor, or taking practice tests.

You sync your own course materials from your university's learning management system (such as Canvas, D2L Brightspace, or Moodle), and Chat2L helps you study by generating practice quizzes, flashcards, study pathways, and answering questions about your coursework.

What Chat2L is not

Chat2L is not a study-prep marketplace like CourseHero, Chegg, or Studocu. Specifically:

  • Your materials are never shared with other users. Each account is completely private.
  • There is no shared libraryof course content. No user can browse, search, or access another user's materials.
  • Chat2L does not provide answers to assignments or exams.
  • Chat2L does not allow users to sell, trade, or distribute course materials.
  • Your materials are only used to generate study aids for you, within your own account.

Your account

You sign in with Google. You're responsible for your account and everything that happens under it. Don't share your login with others.

Your content

You keep ownership of any materials you upload or sync through Chat2L. By using the Service, you grant Chat2L a limited license to store, process, and display your content back to you — and only to you — for the purpose of providing the Service.

Your materials are processed privately within your account. They are never made available to other users, published, or added to any shared database. Chat2L uses your materials solely to generate personalized study aids for your private use.

You represent that you have lawful access to any materials you sync. Chat2L is not responsible for verifying whether you have the right to upload specific content.

Acceptable use

Chat2L is a personal study tool designed to help you review and understand your course materials. You agree not to:

  • Use Chat2L to redistribute, publish, or share course materials with anyone
  • Share access to your account with other people
  • Submit AI-generated content (quizzes, flashcards, chat responses, or any other output) as your own original work in assignments, exams, or any academic submission
  • Use Chat2L in any way that violates your institution's academic integrity policies
  • Attempt to access other users' data
  • Abuse the Service by automating requests or overloading the system

Academic integrity

Chat2L is a study aid — similar to making flashcards, reviewing with a tutor, or taking practice tests. It does not produce work for submission, complete assignments, or provide answers to exams.

However, it is your responsibility to understand and follow your institution's academic integrity policies regarding the use of AI tools and third-party study tools. Some institutions or courses may restrict or prohibit the use of certain tools. Check your course syllabus and institutional policies before using Chat2L.

Chat2L does not monitor or enforce your institution's policies, and we are not responsible for any academic integrity consequences resulting from your use of the Service.

By using Chat2L, you acknowledge that you are solely responsible for how you use AI-generated content in relation to your academic obligations.

AI-generated content

Quizzes, flashcards, study pathways, and chat responses are generated by artificial intelligence. They may contain errors, inaccuracies, or omissions. Chat2L is a study aid, not a substitute for attending class, reading your textbook, or following your professor's instructions. You are responsible for verifying the accuracy of any AI-generated content.

Third-party services

To provide the Service, your materials are processed by third-party AI providers. These providers process your content to generate responses and do not use your content to train their models. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Availability

Chat2L is provided as-is. We don't guarantee that the Service will be available at all times, error-free, or that it will meet your specific needs. We may update, change, or discontinue features at any time.

Payment

Chat2L may offer paid features. All payments are final. If we charge for a feature you previously had access to for free, we'll give you reasonable notice.

Termination

You can stop using Chat2L at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms. You can request deletion of your account and data by contacting us.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Chat2L and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. This includes, but is not limited to, poor grades, academic misconduct charges, or reliance on inaccurate AI-generated content.

If you are a content owner and believe material on Chat2L infringes your rights, please contact us at the email below. We will review and respond to legitimate requests promptly. See our Copyright Policy for details.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
